Submission Theme: "Moments with Cats"

Awagami is currently looking for photographs that capture 'moments with cats' that evoke a calming atmosphere.

Whether it is a precious moment when a cat is relaxing, cats playing with one another, or the daily lives of a group of cats watched over by a local community.
Please share your 'moments with cats' that showcase feline's expressions.

Submitted works will be printed on Awagami inkjet paper and displayed at a Tokyo gallery.
The unique, soft texture of Awagami washi can gently enhance a cats' expressions and fur, to bring out a heightened sense of presence and atmosphere.

By blending casual, everyday scenes of cats with the texture of Awagami washi, each photo evokes a deeper charm.

Contest Prizes

Note: For the GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE prizes, Awagami Factory will select the best works based on a comprehensive evaluation of the photograph's composition, expressiveness, and compatibility with Washi paper.
Note: The Popularity Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 works that receive the most votes from visitors at the exhibition venue.

How to Apply

1. Take a picture of a cat.
2. Fill out the required information on the application form, upload your photo, and submit.

Applications are accepted in digital format only. Physical prints will not be accepted.
Changes to data or content after submission cannot be accommodated.

Submission Data Requirements

• Limit: 1 entry per person.
  
• Photo Details:
  • Format: JPEG, PDF, PNG, HEIC
  • Resolution: 150 dpi (Recommended)
  • File Size: 5 MB or less
  • Recommended Size: 1240 × 1754 pixels (equivalent to A4 size)
• Photos taken with a smartphone are also welcome!
  Please submit without reducing the image quality.

About the Artwork Exhibition
"Neko ni Awagami."

Submitted works will be printed on and exhibitedat Nine Gallery, Tokyo. If there are many entries, a jurying process may be necessary.

Following the exhibition, all images will be published on our website.

Terms and Conditions

• Works must be original photographs (regardless of the device used) and must not have won prizes in other contests.
• Extreme editing, manipulation, compositing of image data, or AI-generated images are strictly prohibited.
• The contest is for photographs featuring live cats as the subject; figures, sculptures, or paintings of cats are not eligible.
• Submitted works and photos of the exhibition venue may be used on social media, websites, etc., for the promotional activities of this contest and future similar contests.
• If the organizer determines that a submission does not meet the entry requirements, it will be excluded from the judging process.
• The copyright of the submitted work belongs to the applicant.
• Submitted works must not infringe upon the copyrights or intellectual property rights of any third party.
• The organizer assumes no responsibility for any copyright infringement or damage claims arising between the applicant and a third party regarding the submitted work. In the event of a dispute with a third party regarding the publication of a photograph, the applicant shall resolve the dispute at their own responsibility and expense.
• Applicants may be contacted individually to request permission to use their submitted works in our company's promotional materials outside of this contest.
• Personal information provided at the time of entry will only be used for operations related to this contest and the aforementioned promotional materials.
• Any matters not explicitly stated in these terms and conditions will be handled at the discretion of the organizer.
